Dooley’s Bakery is a cozy, family-run café tucked into the heart of Rathcormack village on Church Street. It offers more than just coffee and cakes—it doubles as the local post office and a small shop, making it a natural daily stop for villagers and visitors passing through. The atmosphere carries a quiet, welcoming charm, with old-fashioned furnishings and black-and-white photos that add a sense of local history and comfort.

The café is best known for its freshly made bread, pastries, and sandwiches, all prepared on-site each day. The scones stand out for their delicate texture, often enjoyed with thick cream and jam, while the eclairs consistently draw compliments for their balance of richness and lightness. The coffee here is more than just a caffeine fix—it's remarked on as some of the county’s finest, with drinks like hot chocolate given extra care to create a smooth foam topping.

Visitors typically find themselves stopping in during mid-mornings or around lunchtime, whether for a casual bite after errands or a relaxed coffee break. The ever-maintained, cheerful storefront reflects the care that goes into the interior, which stays spotless and inviting. For those driving between Cork and Kilkenny, it’s a convenient and peaceful spot to stretch legs and enjoy quality homemade fare without the rush.

The staff, a mother-and-daughter duo, deliver service that feels genuinely warm, creating an environment where locals gather not just to eat but to connect. The presence of the post office inside adds a layer of practicality, making Dooley’s a kind of village hub that anchors this small community.

Small Family run cafe and small shop with a post office. Owner and daughter are very pleasant with great coffee and cakes fresh sandwiches made to order. Bread, cakes sandwiches are made fresh in house. Great place to enjoy a lunch. The front is always so well maintained and painted, inside is very clean. Places like this are hard to find, a true gem and the village is lucky to have such a good service. One of Corks best kept secrets is this little gem. Staff are always very welcoming with a smile and a warm welcome. News papers and local produced products are avaliable to buy.

Beautiful place with delicious pastry... Love it so much. Best coffee all over the co Cork. But the most important - kind and helpful personal:) Place you should visit: old-fashioned style furniture with black and white photos on the wall... You cannot miss the flair of coziness...

Cosy little village bakery/cafe/post office. The scones have an incredible texture, served with jam and rich thick cream. The eclairs are simply sublime. Great coffee, and the hot chocolate has a fabulous foam. Much loved spot, the warm heart of the village.

One of the best places for cakes, coffee and chocolate at Cork county. A small, cosy and friendly shop at Rathcormac village. But the quality of the foods, warm welcome by the staffs and awesome friendly hospitality by the shop owner are notable. A must visit place if you live nearby.
